我部收到美国布朗大学来函，推广其BIARI（Brown International Advanced Research Institutes）项目。该项目将于2014年6月举行，为期两周。对方希望我校推荐5名年轻学者参与项目遴选，如最终被录取，该项目将支付全部tuition, accommodation, meals and, in some cases,international travel。具体领域包括：
- Human Security and Humanitarian Response: Increasing Effectiveness and Accountability in
the Age of Complex Emergencies
- Ethnicity, Conflict and Inequality in Global Perspective
- Population and Development: New Approaches to Enduring Global Problems
- Connections and Flows: Water, Energy, and Digital Information in the Global South
遴选将在2014年1月底结束。鉴于布朗大学为美国常青藤联盟名校，其学术声望水平较高，特别在人文社科领域有一定优势，我部建议请各院系青年学者积极参与，并在期限内提供所需材料。
